The “best before” dates on new deliver will be replaced by a new code that permits M&S team to examine freshness and high-quality.
The retailer fully commited to halve meals waste by 2030 as part of its sustainability roadmap.
It also aims to have all of its edible surplus be redistributed by 2025.
Other actions M&S has taken to lower meals waste features using unsold baguettes and boul loaves to make frozen garlic bread.
